Aurock

Loupe d'arbre (probablement châtaignier) sculptée puis brûlée au chalumeau avec ajout d'une corne de vache. Œuvre évoquant la force tranquille de ces grands herbivores qui broutent sur la prairie, masse imposante de muscles et de fourrures, « montagne sur la plaine » .

(wild ox.) Gnarl of a tree (probably a sweet chestnut) sculpted, then burnt with a blow-lamp and fitted with a cow’s horn. A work that evokes the gentle strength of those peaceful herbivores that browse the meadows, impressive masses of muscle and fur, “mountain on the plain”.

Auerochse

Knorriges Holzstück eines Baumes (wahrscheinlich eines Kastanienbaums), das geschnitzt und dann mit einer Lötlampe angebrannt und mit dem Horn einer Kuh versehen wurde. Das Werk erinnert an die sanfte Stärke jener friedlichen Pflanzenfresser, die auf den Weiden grasen. Eindrucksvolle Muskel und Fellberge, „Berge am Talboden“.
